Russian President's Representative in the Northwestern Federal District, Igor Rudenya, chaired a meeting on the economic and financial situation in the Arkhangelsk Region. The meeting analyzed the performance of the region's key sectors under sanctions conditions.
Governor Alexander Tsybulsky stated during the meeting that the Arkhangelsk economy is showing stable growth despite ongoing sanctions pressure and challenging macroeconomic conditions. He noted that positive trends in housing construction and wages continue.
One of the focal points of the meeting was support measures for special military operation participants and their families. In addition to federal measures, 26 regional support measures are being implemented in the region. A high-tech prosthetics and rehabilitation center will soon open as a branch of Rostec's Center for Innovative Technologies in Orthopedics within the Arkhangelsk War Veterans Hospital.
The meeting also addressed the progress of relocation programs from dilapidated housing and the construction of educational facilities. According to Tsybulsky, more than 28,000 people have improved their living conditions thanks to the housing program. Since 2020, nine new schools have been commissioned under the national "Education" project, while construction of four more schools is ongoing.
Assessing the housing efforts, Rudenya said, "Working with dilapidated housing is a very responsible and large-scale task; you are handling it with honor."
Rudenya noted that he found the regional authorities' school repair and construction work positive, emphasizing that each modern school built will specialize in science or technical fields and offer young people various sports opportunities.
As part of his visit to Arkhangelsk, Rudenya also visited the Red Banner Belomorsk Naval Base. There, he discussed the Northern Fleet's priority tasks for ensuring national security with the command staff. He also inspected the fulfillment of state defense orders at a defense industry enterprise.
