Professor Glen Diesen from the University of South-Eastern Norway stated that the West's military support for Ukraine has brought relations with Russia to a critical threshold. In an interview with a YouTube channel, Diesen noted that European officials boast about their investments in long-range missiles and drones for Ukraine.
"Their goal is to strike deeper into the country to hit and weaken Russia's economic and military infrastructure. All of this is being done openly," the professor said, adding that this is perceived as a direct threat to Russia's security.
Diesen said that with these actions, the West is increasingly approaching a point of no return in relations with Russia, and that they are moving toward a moment when the Russian side will conclude that everything has a limit and will be forced to respond.

On the Russian side, it is believed that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder a resolution and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Moscow.
Kremlin spokespersons have also said that the West's arming of Ukraine does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative impact. Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Moscow has no intention of attacking NATO countries, but that Western politicians scare their populations with an imaginary Russian threat to distract from domestic problems.
