Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Anna Evstigneeva, delivered a speech at the United Nations Security Council accusing European countries of sabotaging the peace process in Ukraine.
"My European colleagues can talk as much as they want about peace, humanity and the protection of civilians, but behind this hypocritical rhetoric it is no longer possible to hide the main issue: they are a direct party to the conflict in Ukraine," Evstigneeva said.
Europe's Direct Involvement
The Russian diplomat stated that European countries provide money, weapons, ammunition, target designation, military training and logistical support to Kyiv. "Undermining any sprouts of peace talks has already become part of a single strategy," she said.
Evstigneeva argued that the Western members of the UNSC are constantly trying to impose the "narrative of an innocent Ukraine that is supposedly saving the world from so-called Russian aggression." She described the accusations against Russia as "baseless."
Claim of an 'Anti-Russia' Project
Anna Evstigneeva suggested that Ukraine under the leadership of Volodymyr Zelenskyy has become part of an 'Anti-Russia' project that is alien to the people.
