Russia's Ministry of Labor said in a statement on Aug. 24 that public holidays falling during annual leave will not be deducted from an employee's leave entitlement. Each of these days will extend the rest period by the same number of days.
Changes remain possible after the calendar is approved
Employees may request changes to their leave dates even after the annual leave calendar has been finalized. They will need to agree on the new leave dates with their employer and submit an application.
If leave is taken in separate periods, one of those periods must last at least 14 calendar days.
Groups entitled to longer leave
In Russia, some groups, including teachers, adolescents, people with disabilities, scientists, and state and municipal employees, are entitled to longer periods of paid annual leave.
Increased paid annual leave may also apply to certain other categories of employees.
