External impacts on high-voltage grids in the Republic of Crimea caused widespread power outages in the region. Krymenergo's press service announced that many consumers were left without electricity due to the technical faults that occurred.
The company stated: "Due to technical faults caused by external impacts on high-voltage grids, many consumers in the Republic of Crimea were left without electricity. Fault repair work is ongoing. Every effort is being made to restore power supply during the day."
Krymenergo officials stressed that the outages did not constitute a peninsula-wide blackout. Emergency repair work has begun and crews are continuing efforts to fix the fault.
