Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made statements in response to Russia's threat to terminate the 2013 cooperation agreement regarding natural gas, fuel, and rough diamond supplies. Pashinyan said he is not afraid of concerns that prices may rise if Russia cancels the agreement. Pashinyan stated, "It is not logical to scare Armenia with high prices because we will have more resources to cover these prices." He also noted that Armenia has become an important crossroads worldwide today and sells weapons to developed countries. Russia had threatened to suspend or cancel this agreement if Armenia continues its process of joining the European Union. The agreement includes the removal of export taxes. Armenia's relevant ministry announced that they have not received the letter allegedly sent on behalf of Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev.
