Barack Obama spoke Saturday in Cleveland, Ohio, at a rally supporting Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton and Senate candidate Sherrod Brown. Ten days remain before the November 3 midterm elections.
Obama said Trump had launched an unnecessary war that nobody had voted for. He said Iran had no nuclear weapons thanks to the deal reached under his administration: “I didn’t have to fire a single missile. I just practiced diplomacy.”
“These are not serious people”
The former president noted that over seven months of war, allies and U.S. military bases had come under attack, Americans had been killed, hundreds had been wounded and missile stocks had been depleted. Obama said this was why oil and diesel prices were rising.

Obama also took aim at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who, he said, was concerned with the military’s “jawline and testosterone levels.” “These are not serious people,” he concluded.
That same day, Obama and Trump held competing rallies in key states.
“Saddam Hussein’s Cheesecake Factory”
Obama also mocked the gold leaf Trump used to decorate the White House. Trump, he said, had turned the residence into something resembling a Cheesecake Factory restaurant “opened by Saddam Hussein.”
