The acting school founded by Russian actor Andrey Burkovskiy in the US had to make significant price cuts shortly after its opening. At the Seagull NYC school run by Burkovskiy and his wife in New York, course fees have fallen by more than half over the past year and a half.
Burkovskiy announced in 2022 that he would move to the US to study acting. In 2024, he founded the Seagull NYC (Martı) school with his wife. According to the school's website, training is provided by actors from various regions of the US, Israel, and Russia, based on the technique of the famous Russian theater director Konstantin Stanislavski.
As soon as the school became operational, Burkovskiy introduced a three-month course called “Your Life - Your Show,” promising participants to overcome personal barriers and gain self-confidence. At the beginning of 2025, the price of this course was set at $1,960 (approximately 150,000 rubles). However, this course is no longer listed on the school's website. The course page was last updated in 2025, at the time it was created.
Currently, the school offers a one-month course for professional actors taught by Burkovskiy himself for $950 (approximately 72,500 rubles), and five-month courses for children for $960 (approximately 73,200 rubles). These prices represent an average drop of about 51%.
Despite the price cut, interest in the school appears extremely limited. On Yelp, the popular US review platform, the Seagull NYC page has received no comments since its creation. Posts on the school's social media accounts either get no comments or very little engagement. The school's own website only features reviews from its founding year.
A web traffic analysis conducted by RIA Novosti also confirms this. The Seagull NYC website is almost never visited, while search queries related to the school are either completely nonexistent or at statistically insignificant levels.
