Merz says US no longer contributes to financing weapons for Ukraine
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the United States no longer contributes to financing weapons and military equipment for Ukraine's defense, and that Europe is providing this support on its own.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the United States no longer contributes to financing weapons and military equipment for Ukraine's defense.
"This shows that we are able to provide support to Ukraine with our own resources. We have been doing this for about two years," Merz said.
The chancellor said the support places a serious burden on budgets and carries a great responsibility for the European Union. "But we are providing this support and we will try to maintain it until this terrible war ends," he added.
