In Russia's northern capital St. Petersburg, a young man’s act of kindness was repaid with violence. Near the Gostiny Dvor metro station on Nevsky Prospekt around 5 a.m. on Saturday morning, an intoxicated woman wounded a 19-year-old in the hip with manicure scissors after he returned her fallen bag.
According to a statement from the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Directorate of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya), the incident unfolded as follows:
"According to preliminary information, the woman dropped her bag, and the nearby 19-year-old picked it up and returned it to her. At that point, the woman took out manicure scissors from her bag and struck the youth several times in the hip area."
The young man sustained non-penetrating wounds from the manicure scissors attack and was taken from the scene to hospital. Rosgvardiya teams responding to the incident immediately detained the female attacker.
Rosgvardiya officials reported that the detained woman was handed over to the police and that all circumstances of the incident were being investigated.
