Gazprom Arena said no rental contract had been signed for the concerts that American rapper Kanye West is scheduled to perform in St. Petersburg. The arena management said the event therefore could not be held at its venue.
West was scheduled to perform two concerts at Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg on October 10 and 11. The arena’s statement has left the future of the event at the venue uncertain.
Say Agency, the concert organizer, had previously announced that Kanye West would travel to Russia and perform two concerts at Gazprom Arena.
Anna Subcheva, the owner and general manager of Say Agency, said the agency had not yet established direct contact with Gazprom Arena. Subcheva said they believed the misunderstanding could be resolved.
Although the arena’s statement indicates that the concerts cannot be held at the venue, it does not establish that the events have been canceled altogether or will be moved to another location.
