The soldier codenamed 'Kuyumcu', who plays a key role behind the front lines in Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, spoke about his background and current mission. A former decorator and prop maker at the Bolshoi Theatre, 'Kuyumcu' now works as an engineer-technician at the drone workshop of the 'Sever' (North) group of forces.
'Kuyumcu' stated that his artistic skills in metalworking are in high demand in the military field. 'Since February, my team and I have assembled around a thousand drones,' the soldier said, emphasizing their high production capacity.
The 'Sever' group's workshop supplies its units with all types of drones. With a capacity to produce 600 drones a day, the workshop operates around the clock in three shifts.
Referring to his artistic background, 'Kuyumcu' said he makes sure the drones they produce are not only functional but also look good aesthetically. 'I always print stickers from the printer. We even painted the first 'Perun' batch to make them look nice,' he said.
'Kuyumcu' explained that at the Bolshoi Theatre he worked especially on metal accessories, armor and weapons, and made replicas of historical jewelry, and admitted that he greatly enjoys producing drones. He said he has not yet decided whether he will return to the theatre once the conflict ends.
