The EU’s latest sanctions step against Russia came after Moscow’s latest airstrikes on Ukraine. Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, announced that five people linked to Russia’s military-industrial complex had been added to the European Union’s sanctions list.
Kallas made the announcement on X. She said each new attack provided further justification for increasing pressure on Russia and stated that the EU would continue to maintain pressure on Moscow.
Kallas argued that the Russian army had failed to make progress on the front and was instead intensifying its attacks on the civilian population. The EU representative said pressure on Russia must be increased until Moscow ends the war.
