Devlet Bahçeli, leader of Türkiye’s Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), an ally of the ruling Justice and Development Party, issued a written statement on relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan and the unity of the Turkic world.
“The brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Türkiye is so deep that it cannot be confined to the framework of immediate events, and so strong that it is historical in nature, extending beyond political and diplomatic issues,” Bahçeli said.

A call to prevent division
Bahçeli said every representative of the Turkic world has a responsibility not to turn differences into grounds for division and to avoid steps that could weaken their common future. “We must not allow any disagreements to be inflamed, any disputes to turn into permanent division, or seeds of discord to be sown among us,” he stressed.
The politician noted that unity in the Turkic world does not mean one state’s dominance over another and should be built on the sovereign equality of independent states. He called for resisting attempts to weaken this unity and sow distrust among brotherly countries, drawing on common sense, determination and the right of brotherhood.
Ahead of the summit in Ankara
The statement was issued ahead of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Turkic republics and the 13th summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will be held in Ankara on October 30.
