Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a passenger train locomotive in the Odesa region was attacked with a jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle, and said Russia carried out the attack.
The Ukrainian president said 340 people were on the train at the time and argued that it was known to be a civilian vehicle. Zelenskyy said the driver and assistant driver were killed in the attack.
Zelenskyy also said strikes were recorded across 11 regions of Ukraine overnight and that Russia used more than 130 unmanned aerial vehicles for the attack.
The Ukrainian president called for more assistance for his country’s air defense systems and increased pressure on Russia.
