Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova reacted sharply to American businessman Elon Musk's statements targeting Western diplomats regarding the war in Ukraine. Referring to Musk's remarks, Zakharova stated that the Starlink satellite internet system should be withdrawn from Ukraine.
Musk had previously said, "Politicians who say Russia must withdraw its troops really bother me, while people continue to die on the front line." In a post on her Telegram channel, Zakharova referred to these remarks, writing that Starlink should be "withdrawn from Ukraine" and adding, "So that people don't die."
In an interview with The Economist magazine, Elon Musk also stated that the conflict cannot be resolved without a compromise with Russia. Musk, who said that expecting a full withdrawal of Russian troops was "unrealistic," drew attention with these views.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also made statements on the issue. Lavrov described Ukraine's rejection of the US plan to end the conflict as "arrogant." Suggesting that this stance was linked to arms shipments to Kyiv, Lavrov claimed that with the weapons provided to Ukraine, the country's leader was "trying to destabilize Russia and attacking civilians." The minister emphasized that a significant portion of the arms shipments came from the US, adding that intelligence was also being provided to Kyiv.
