Russian People's Artist Yevgeni Mironov was awarded the 'Best Actor' prize at the 35th Crystal Turandot Theater Awards. Mironov won this prestigious award for his role in the play 'An Ordinary Death', directed by Mark Rozovsky.
Unable to Attend the Ceremony
The award ceremony was held at the Arkhangelskoye Museum-Reserve in Moscow. However, Mironov was unable to attend the special evening due to a personal reason.
The founder of the award, director and producer Boris Belenkiy, explained the situation at the ceremony with these words:
For the first time in the 35-year history of the award, a winner did not come to the ceremony. Usually, the Chinese princess Turandot is proud; the award statuette is not given to empty chairs. But this is a completely different situation. Yevgeni Vitalyevich could not come to the ceremony because he is currently with his mother. We wish his mother a speedy recovery and our best wishes.
Crystal Turandot Awards
First awarded in 1991, the Crystal Turandot is considered one of Russia's most prestigious theater awards. The award honors the best productions and performances of the Moscow theater season.
