Two women diplomats represent Türkiye in Moldova and Gagauzia

Türkiye’s interests in Moldova are represented by two women: newly appointed Ambassador to Chisinau Nazmie Basharan and Consul General in Comrat Eda Güç. The Gagauz Turks Solidarity Association highlighted this and wished both diplomats success in their work.

Ambassador Nazmie Basharan's meeting in Moldova's Parliament

Eda Güç has headed Türkiye’s Consulate General in Comrat, the administrative center of Gagauzia, since October 15, 2025. She has worked in Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry since 2006 and served at Türkiye’s mission in New York before her appointment to Comrat.

The ambassador’s first meetings

After taking office, Nazmie Basharan held a series of meetings with Moldovan officials. On October 21, she paid courtesy visits to Moldova’s parliamentary deputy speakers Doina Gherman and Vlad Batrîncea, and discussed bilateral cooperation with Foreign Ministry State Secretary Carolina Perebinos.
