Trump: Even after losing a million soldiers, Russia would still have millions
U.S. President Donald Trump told Newsmax that Russia is a massive country that would still have millions of soldiers even after losing a million, while Ukraine lacks such manpower. He also criticized Zelensky over strikes on Russian refineries and called for elections in Ukraine.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Russia has a significant manpower advantage in an interview with Newsmax’s Finnerty program at the White House. “Russia is a massive country. Even if it loses a million soldiers, it still has millions more. Ukraine doesn’t have that kind of manpower,” he said.
Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries. “I think that’s a disgrace. There’s plenty of other targets,” he said, arguing that attacks on refineries producing diesel hurt fuel supplies the world needs.
“Not a big fan of Zelensky”
“Zelensky is not a good guy for us to deal with. He doesn’t want to settle. He says he wants to settle, but he doesn’t,” Trump said. “No, I’m not a big fan of Zelensky,” he added.
Asked about a proposed two-month pause to hold elections, Trump said: “I think you need an election.”
