A new reporting system designed to assess companies’ social contribution in Russia using common criteria was introduced in Moscow. ANO “Social Capital” published analytical reports prepared under the Social Capital Standard for Businesses.
Starting in September 2026, companies included in the monthly reports will be divided into three groups according to their scores. Businesses scoring between 80 and 100 points will be classified as “leaders,” those scoring 65 to 79 points as “sustainable companies,” and those scoring 50 to 64 points as “promising companies.”
Companies’ results to be reported in detail
Each company that completes the assessment process will receive a comprehensive report containing comments from methodology experts. The reports are intended to support decisions aimed at improving businesses’ performance in responsible business practices.
Irina Bakaeva, first deputy director general of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, said the standard would examine companies’ contributions to the country’s development using common criteria. The analyses, Bakaeva said, will help businesses compare their results with those of other organisations, identify areas for improvement and benefit from successful practices.

Bakaeva said the work would enable the state to gain a better understanding of companies’ actual contributions to achieving national goals.
Reporting to be conducted annually and periodically
The framework approved by the Methodology Council of ANO “Social Capital” provides for the preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly reports, in addition to thematic assessments.
Boris Titov, the special representative of the President of Russia for relations with international organisations on achieving sustainable development goals and chairman of the Methodology Council of ANO “Social Capital,” said analytical reports based on verification results would present the assessment findings to the public.

Titov said the reports would show not only how many points companies received but also how they achieved those scores. He said this approach would make the assessment process clearer for organisations covered by the standard or planning to join it.
Monthly reports to include current results
Monthly reports will include the latest results and good practices of organisations assessed under the standard. Quarterly reports will examine specific sectors and segments of the business community, including large companies and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Regional priorities will also be addressed as part of the periodic studies. The reports will additionally focus on specific assessment areas, including environmental, social, governance and economic indicators, as well as contributions to social well-being.
Asiyat Bagatyrova, director general of ANO “Social Capital,” said the analytical work would help foster a culture of transparency in the field of social capital. Bagatyrova said the aim was to make businesses’ contributions to improving quality of life and developing regions more visible.
