Following his announcement that he had suspended large-scale attack plans against Iran, US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They discussed the rising tensions in the Middle East and how to de-escalate through dialogue.
According to the official Saudi news agency SPA, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated that reducing tensions and prioritizing dialogue are necessary to ensure stability and security in the region.
The two leaders also discussed the existing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the US and expectations for further expanding this cooperation in various fields.
Meanwhile, Axios had earlier reported, citing anonymous sources, that the Saudi crown prince expressed concerns to Trump about the new large-scale attack plans on Iran and urged the White House leader to de-escalate by refraining from carrying out the strikes.
