Russia’s international reserves reached $740 billion as of August 7, 2026. The Central Bank of Russia said the main reason for the weekly increase in reserves was the positive revaluation of reserve assets.
According to central bank data, the reserve total increased by $19.7 billion, or 2.7 percent, in one week.
Russia’s international reserves consist of foreign-currency assets, monetary gold, International Monetary Fund special drawing rights and its reserve position in the IMF. Assets frozen because of Western sanctions are also included in the reserve total.
