Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said young doctors working in small settlements can receive salary support as well as housing and land assistance.
Murashko made the remarks at an event held as part of the All-Russian Medical Youth Forum in Moscow on October 13, 2026. He said the support specifically covers doctors who move to small settlements.
First-year payment and housing support
Murashko said the support available to young doctors varies by the region where they work, adding that they may receive an additional payment of 1.6 million rubles on top of their first-year salaries.

Murashko said doctors may be provided with housing or receive land on which to build a home. He added that the housing issue could also be resolved by assigning two doctors to work together.
