An international search process has been launched for Ukraine’s former defense ministers Aleksey Reznikov and Mykhailo Fedorov. Russia’s Investigative Committee announced the decision on October 2.

The committee said the two men gave orders and instructions to subordinates serving in Donbas in 2021–2023 and 2026. It alleged that the orders enabled military operations intended as punishment to be carried out.
The statement alleged that these actions led to the deaths and injuries of numerous civilians, as well as the destruction of civilian infrastructure facilities.

Russia’s Investigative Committee said decisions had been issued for Reznikov and Fedorov to stand trial as defendants and that international search procedures had been launched against both men.
