Federal budget surplus in June
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the federal budget recorded a surplus of 196 billion rubles in June during an economic meeting held at the Kremlin on July 22.
The surplus was driven by increases in oil and natural gas revenues as well as non-oil and non-natural-gas revenues. Non-oil and non-natural-gas revenues increased by more than a quarter in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same period last year.
