Russian Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov made notable assessments regarding the country's labor market. Speaking to journalists in Novosibirsk, Kotyakov said that Russian citizens aged 40-45 are currently one of the most in-demand age groups on the market.
Minister Kotyakov attributed the prominence of this age group to demographic trends. Kotyakov said, "Today, this age group is a cohort whose numbers are declining due to demographic trends. Therefore, this age cohort is the most productive segment and one of the most sought-after in the labor market."
Free vocational training programs
Kotyakov noted that job fairs organized especially for people in this age group offer an important opportunity for them to understand which fields they might be in demand. Pointing to retraining and re-education programs, the minister emphasized that employment centers play an active role in this regard.
The minister stated that it is currently possible to participate in free training programs in over 200 professions. Kotyakov said, "For the most part, these are courses lasting up to 256 hours. Before starting the training, you clearly know which employer will demand you, and a tripartite agreement is signed."
