In Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, 867 attacks on 47 settlements within 24 hours once again highlighted the security pressure along the frontline of the Russia-Ukraine war. A total of 2 people were killed and at least 9 injured in attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions, while civilian infrastructure was damaged.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said that one person was killed and four injured in attacks on the Zaporizhzhia and Polohy districts. Fedorov said air defense units destroyed 79 Russian drones over Zaporizhzhia during the same 24-hour period.
According to Fedorov, the air defense intervention prevented around 1 ton of explosives from reaching their targets.
Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, said three districts in the region were hit more than 20 times by drones and artillery fire. Hanzha said the attacks damaged civilian infrastructure.
Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, said civilian infrastructure in the city was targeted five times overnight with guided aerial bombs. Hryhorov said hits were recorded at three locations in two districts and that at least five people were injured.
