Russia has moved to boost transportation security after attacks on commercial vessels in the Sea of Azov and Black Sea. The Ministry of Transport announced it set up a special operations center and took additional security measures to prevent cargo disruptions.
According to the ministry, the center will create alternative logistics routes and shift freight flows to road and rail. This aims to ensure timely and complete deliveries. Some port operators also said they are ready to accept extra cargo and speed up shipments within their technological capabilities.
The measures are being coordinated with the Russian Ministry of Defense. The statement stressed that additional steps have been taken to enhance maritime safety, protect commercial vessels, and avoid transport interruptions. However, no details about these security measures were provided.
Recently, Russia and Ukraine have mutually escalated attacks on ships and ports in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. This regional tension has led Russia to reorganize its logistics and security plans.
