Russia’s Defense Ministry said intensive strikes were carried out on 24 September against targets in Ukraine using high-precision weapons launched from the ground and air, as well as drones.
According to the ministry, the targets included drone production facilities, telecommunications and logistics centers, and vessels said to serve the needs of the Ukrainian army.
Drone and communications facilities targeted in Kyiv
The ministry said an industrial facility in Kyiv that produced components for long- and medium-range drones and prepared ground-based robotic systems for deployment had been struck.
Russia’s Defense Ministry alleged that long- and medium-range drones, including fixed-wing models, were produced and stored at a workshop belonging to Pegas Arms. It said components for medium-range Hornet attack drones were produced and stored at a facility belonging to Element UA.
The ministry said a transport and logistics center used to store and distribute long- and medium-range drones had also been targeted. It alleged that the Kyivstar and Parkoviy telecommunications centers were struck because they provided communications services and computing capacity to the Ukrainian army.
Logistics centers and a tanker targeted in Odesa
It was alleged that two logistics centers in Odesa, where military and dual-use cargo sent from European countries to Ukraine was stored and distributed, had been struck.
The ministry also said a tanker reportedly carrying fuel and lubricants for the needs of the Ukrainian army was struck while passing by sea to the Port of Chornomorsk.
Russia says 40 drones were neutralized
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defense units detected and neutralized 40 fixed-wing drones between 8 p.m. on 23 September and 8 a.m. on 24 September.
According to the ministry, the drones were neutralized over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Kursk, Tver and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Krai and Crimea, which Russia has annexed.
Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar said drones had been shot down over the city of Taganrog and the Kagalnitsky and Neklinovsky districts. He said falling debris in Kagalnitsky District damaged administrative buildings at an oil storage facility, with no casualties or fire reported.
In Dinskoy District of Krasnodar Krai, drone debris reportedly caused a fire on the grounds of a business. Fifty people and 15 vehicles, including teams from Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, were deployed to fight the fire.
In the Kursk region, a drone attack on the regional center damaged the roof, facade and windows of a house. A garage, the facade and cladding of a store, four vehicles, a loader and a roller were rendered unusable, and a 50-year-old man was injured, it was reported.
Kursk Region Governor Alexander Khinshtein said 61 drones of various types had been shot down between 9 a.m. on 23 September and 9 a.m. on 24 September. Khinshtein also said 23 artillery attacks had been carried out against areas evacuated of residents and that the region had been targeted in four drone attacks involving explosives.
