Seeking to help Ukraine strengthen its air defenses against Russian attacks during the winter, the UK has prepared a new support package worth £100 million.
The UK Ministry of Defense announced that Patriot missiles, air defense interceptors, heavy-caliber artillery shells and unmanned aerial vehicles will be sent to Ukraine as part of Britain's contribution to NATO's Prioritized Requirements List initiative for Ukraine.
The package includes interceptors to be used to shoot down Russian unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as drones for reconnaissance missions.
The support package, prepared after UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Defense Minister Wes Streeting visited Kyiv last month, is planned to reach Ukraine before winter.
The UK's commitment to provide Ukraine with more than 120,000 unmanned aerial vehicles this year also remains in place. So far, 25,000 vehicles have been delivered, and deliveries are expected to increase before winter.
Wes Streeting said the UK would continue supporting Ukraine and would not abandon its commitment to help the country defend its freedom and sovereignty.
