A proposal for the 2026/2027 school holiday calendar in Russia envisages nine calendar days of break during each of the autumn, winter and spring terms.
The Russian Ministry of Education plans to apply the proposal to all grades, from first through 11th grade, at schools operating on a quarter-based academic system.
February break proposed for first-grade students
The proposal also includes an additional nine-day break in February for first-grade students.
The ministry’s letter says that implementing the recommendations would contribute to organizing a quality education process, protecting students’ health and providing sufficient time for rest throughout the 2026/2027 academic year.
