The Russian Health Ministry has introduced a new regulation in the rehabilitation process of Special Military Operation (SVO) veterans. Psychologist counseling has been added as a mandatory service in the first stage of the dispensarization (health screening) program for veterans.
Vladislav Golovin, a member of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party and a Hero of Russia, assessed the decision. Golovin supported the move, describing it as 'a correct and overdue step'.
Golovin, who himself experienced psychological distress after being wounded in war, emphasized that in addition to support from family and comrades-in-arms, professional psychologist assistance is critically important for soldiers. Golovin said, 'Soldiers need specialists with whom they can talk about all their pain and fears.'
Noting that United Russia is carrying out comprehensive projects for the rehabilitation of veterans, Golovin announced that the party has established reception centers in all regions for SVO participants and their families.
Golovin said, 'Now the main thing is oversight to ensure that every family and every soldier, regardless of whether they are in a city or a village, can quickly receive help. As a party, we will definitely carry out this work.'
