Eight people were detained in a security operation in Russia on suspicion of preparing an attack on a defense facility in the Moscow region.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) said the detained group had 35 explosive-equipped unmanned aerial vehicles allegedly smuggled in from the European Union. The FSB said the vehicles were intended for an attack on a strategic defense facility in the Moscow region.
Separate operation in Murmansk
In the Murmansk region, a foreign national was detained while allegedly attempting to cross into Norway. Russian authorities said the person was suspected of monitoring trains carrying petroleum products at a railway station in Moscow, as well as government buildings and strategic infrastructure in the capital.
Russian authorities accused all nine people detained in the two incidents of working for Ukrainian special services. They did not disclose the foreign national's citizenship.
Ukraine has not commented on the latest detentions.
