Russian Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko stated that the strategic partnership between Russia and China has now become an inseparable part of citizens' daily lives.
Matviyenko spoke at the 'Good Neighbors' educational project, organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness, and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.
Emphasizing that cooperation covers almost every field, primarily politics, economy, science, culture and education, Matviyenko said that the two countries have developed joint educational programs, cultural exchanges, tourism routes, business connections, and scientific projects.
Noting that this comprehensive cooperation offers new opportunities to young people, entrepreneurs, scientists and cultural figures, Matviyenko said, "When our citizens get to know each other better, when Russian students learn Chinese, and Chinese students discover Russian culture, friendship comes alive. It ceases to be an abstract concept and turns into a genuine human bond."
The 'Good Neighbors' project was launched by Radio Sputnik, ON Media holding, China Media Group (CMG), and Izvestiya television channel, with expert support from the Russian Historical Society and the Russian Military Historical Society.
