Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where he sharply criticized Israel and discussed the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ political bureau, in Tehran.
Pezechkian said that Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran when he took office as president. The Iranian leader accused Israel of carrying out killings and military operations in the region.

Pezeshkian said that Israel strikes various territories and conducts operations to eliminate its opponents. He also accused Israel of using its technological and military superiority.

During his address, the Iranian president asked, “Are we the source of instability?” He said that Iranians want to live independently and do not intend to submit to external pressure.
Pezeshkian stressed that Tehran considers the Iranian people victims of terrorism and military attacks, rejecting accusations that Iran is a source of instability in the region.

Pezeshkian displayed photographs from the UN podium.
During his address, Pezeshkian showed photographs of people who, he said, had become victims of American and Israeli attacks on Iran.
The Iranian president said that his country had defended itself and rejected accusations of terrorism.
Pezeshkian also said that Iran was ready for dialogue, diplomacy and negotiations, while emphasizing that Tehran did not intend to negotiate under pressure or the threat of force.
The address came amid continuing tensions in the region, and a significant portion of Pezeshkian’s speech focused on responding to accusations from the United States and Israel.
