In 2025, nearly 600,000 retirees and citizens approaching retirement age in Russia received their accumulated pension savings in a single lump sum.
According to the country's Social Fund data, a total of 719,700 pension payments were made during the year. Of these, 592,600 were paid as lump sums.
Payment Types Determined by Conditions
There are three different methods for disbursing pension savings: accumulated pension payments, lump-sum payments, and urgent pension payments spread over a specific period.
The choice of method depends on which payment type the applicant qualifies for. When conditions are met, savings can be withdrawn in a single lump sum.
Age Limit and Application Process
According to the law, women can apply for this payment starting at age 55, and men from age 60.
Applications are submitted to the institution holding the savings, which can be the Russian Social Fund or a non-state pension fund.
Data from 2025 shows that the lump-sum payment option was the most commonly used method for pension savings withdrawals this year.
