In Moldova, the Chisinau Court fined blogger Nikolay Lebedev, known as Nekoglay, 100,000 Moldovan lei, approximately $5,650, for driving under the influence of drugs and without a driving licence.
The incident cited in the court ruling took place in February 2025. Traffic police became suspicious of Lebedev after noticing that his eyes appeared slightly red and glazed. During questioning, Lebedev said he had used cannabis.
Lebedev pleaded guilty
The Chisinau Court found Lebedev guilty under paragraph 5 of Article 264/1 of Moldova's Criminal Code, which covers driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
During the hearing, Lebedev stated that he fully admitted the charges, accepted the evidence in the case, understood the alleged act and acknowledged his fault.
A forensic examination established that the car used belonged to Lebedev, but that he did not have a driving licence. After the incident, in which Lebedev's wife was also in the vehicle, the car was towed to an impound lot, while Lebedev was sent to the Republican Narcological Dispensary for testing.
He was also fined in June 2026
The court took into account that this was Lebedev's first serious violation of the law, as well as his guilty plea and cooperation with the investigation, and proceeded by agreement. Court documents show that Lebedev was also fined in June 2026 for driving without a licence and under the influence of drugs.
Another investigation involving Nekoglay
Moldovan media reported in September 2026 that Lebedev had been detained in Moldova for 30 days on allegations of trafficking large quantities of drugs.
Investigators alleged that Lebedev and his wife had created an environment for drug use in their homes. The couple could face between seven and 15 years in prison over the allegations.
He was deported from Russia
Lebedev, who was born in Moldova, lived in Russia until 2022. He was deported from Russia after mocking Russian soldiers in parody videos.
