A young Israeli woman, answering questions from a journalist with the British newspaper The Guardian at an event in Tel Aviv on the eve of the October 27 election, called for the forced expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and said they should be killed if they did not leave.
“I think it is very important to settle and annex Gaza. I don’t think this war will ever end unless we drive the Arabs out of there. These are our lands,” said the woman, who spoke with an American accent.
Religious justification for expulsion
When the journalist noted that many viewers in the United Kingdom and outside Israel might be shocked by her words, she replied: “Israel is a Jewish state. We have to take it because God commanded us to do so.”
Asked where the Palestinians should go, she said: “Honestly, any other Arab country, I don’t care. Except Jordan, Lebanon and Syria — they are ours.” She added: “Either we kill them.”
In a version of the video published by Middle East Eye, she also called for Palestinians to be subjected to “full-scale” carpet bombing.
“This is not a marginal view”
Trita Parsi, executive vice president of the Quincy Institute in the United States, called for such statements to stop being treated as the views of a marginal minority. He said Israel had been moving in this direction for a long time and that Western governments, fully aware of this, continued to finance and support Israel’s “genocidal policy.”
