U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington had not changed its Ukraine policy and that the Pentagon had issued no instructions to restrict satellite communications services.
Responding to reporters’ questions in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Hegseth addressed reports that the transfer of Patriot interceptors to Ukraine from allied countries had been delayed.
Hegseth said the U.S. stance toward Ukraine had not changed, adding that they wanted U.S. forces to retain the highest possible level of ammunition for Patriot interceptors. Hegseth also said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was aware of the situation.
Starlink support has not been withdrawn
Hegseth was also asked whether his statement that there had been no change in Ukraine policy included services provided through the Starlink satellite network. The secretary said the United States had not withdrawn any support.

Hegseth said Starlink’s terms of service must be followed and that the company could make the final decisions within that framework. He reiterated that the Pentagon had issued no instructions regarding Starlink.
The remarks came as reports emerged about the status of the Trump administration’s military aid to Kyiv and the satellite communications services used by Ukrainian forces.
