Görgün: Defense deals with Azerbaijan to exceed half a billion dollars

Turkish Defense Industry Agency President Haluk Görgün said at ADEX 2026 in Baku that the agreements to be signed with Azerbaijan exceed half a billion dollars and that ASELSAN will make a critical investment in the country.

Turkish Defense Industry Agency (SSB) President Haluk Görgün said at the ADEX 2026 International Defense Exhibition in Baku that the total value of the contracts Türkiye and Azerbaijan will sign during the fair exceeds half a billion dollars.

Görgün said the agreements cover platforms, sensor systems, radars and facilities, and that an umbrella memorandum on education has been prepared to be signed by the relevant institutions of the two countries, including the SSB and Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry. He also announced that ASELSAN will make a critical investment in Azerbaijan.

Noting that Türkiye is taking part in the fair with more than 60 companies, Görgün said Turkish defense products are exported to 185 countries and that Türkiye ranks among the world’s top 11 defense exporters.

ADEX 2026 is being held at the Baku Expo Center from September 30 to October 2. The KASIRGA kamikaze drone, developed by Baykar’s Azerbaijani affiliate, was displayed for the first time at the fair.
