Financial resilience survey in Russia: Majority of citizens have at least three months of savings
A survey conducted by financial comparison platform Vyberu. Ru with approximately 3,000 people revealed that savings awareness is increasing in Russia. 62% of Russians have financial reserves to cover their living expenses for at least three months.
Researchers stated that the proportion of those who have increased their savings to a level sufficient for six months or longer has reached 38%. It was noted that this rate was at 30% a year ago.
The study emphasized that the financial resilience of Russians has strengthened noticeably over the past year. Analysts noted that citizens are now saving not so much for large expenses, but to protect themselves against unexpected life circumstances.
What is the ideal financial reserve?
The majority of survey respondents defined the amount needed to cover a family's expenses for six to twelve months as the ideal reserve. 52% of participants shared this view.
28% of respondents found savings of three to six months sufficient, while one in five (20%) stated they aimed for savings lasting more than a year.
The research shows that households in Russia are increasingly adopting a more cautious financial approach and prioritizing building buffers against crises.
