Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expects a trilateral meeting of negotiating teams from Ukraine, the United States and Russia to take place in early November. “We expect the trilateral meeting of the American, Ukrainian and Russian teams to take place as early as the beginning of November,” he said.
Zelensky made the statement after meeting with Juozas Olekas, speaker of Lithuania’s Seimas, whom the Ukrainian president briefed on his meetings in Oslo and the progress of the talks. The sides also discussed Ukraine’s European integration and Lithuania’s priorities for its presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027.
Zelensky said Kyiv was ready to meet “any day, even tomorrow,” but that everything depended on the Russian side.

What is known about the talks
On October 21, Zelensky said Ukraine supported a U.S. proposal for trilateral talks at the level of negotiating groups and said Russia also supported a meeting in that format. Before that, U.S. presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff held talks with Zelensky in Norway and then met with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said the meeting could take place in the United Arab Emirates around November 10. The date and venue of the talks have not yet been officially announced.
