Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim described the attacks originating from Ukraine on the company’s warehouses as “terrorist acts.” In a video statement, she claimed these attacks, which have been ongoing for the past two weeks, target civilians.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are reported to have targeted a total of 16 Wildberries warehouses. Kim said the warehouse in Yekaterinburg was attacked with more than 200 drones. She stated that the company’s warehouses are equipped with modern protection systems and that most attacks were repelled.
The Wildberries founder also categorically denied claims that the company sells military products. “Look at Amazon or Alibaba, you won't find a product we have that they don’t,” she said, stressing that it is a purely civilian marketplace.
Kim explained that even though there is no legal obligation, sellers affected by the attacks were compensated in two installments; the second payment covered around 100,000 people, she announced. She also noted that sellers were provided with discounts and loan repayment deferrals.
Kim said fire safety is inspected by 2,000 people every day. The founder, who said they are discussing support measures for entrepreneurs with the government, called on sellers: “Don’t believe online scammers; in this difficult period, only the state and we can help.”
