The weather in Moscow will warm up again over the weekend. On Sunday, temperatures are expected to rise to 25 degrees Celsius, which corresponds to the normal levels for July.
Meteorologist Yevgeny Tishkovets stated that a secondary cold front will be active on Saturday night and morning, bringing light rain in some areas. During this period, the lowest temperatures are expected to range between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius.
According to Tishkovets, atmospheric pressure will increase on Saturday, causing the weather to gradually clear throughout the day. Daytime temperatures are forecasted to be between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius.
The expert also noted that winds from the north will blow at speeds of 4 to 9 meters per second. These winds will keep the air cool but will not completely prevent daytime warming.
On Sunday, under the influence of an anticyclone ridge, sunny and dry weather is expected. Winds will blow from the north and northwest at speeds of 1 to 6 meters per second, with temperatures dropping to 10 to 13 degrees Celsius at dusk.
On Sunday, the longest day of the year, temperatures are expected to rise to between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius around midday. This means temperatures will not only return to June norms but may also approach the peak levels typical of summer.
Tishkovets also mentioned that Sunday coincides with the start of astronomical summer, when the Sun reaches its highest point above the horizon. As a result, sunlight and heat reaching the Earth's surface will be among the highest of the year.
