US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during the NATO foreign ministers meeting held in Sweden, stated that negotiations between Moscow, Washington, and Kiev regarding the Ukraine crisis are not currently underway. Rubio said, "Such talks are not happening right now, but we hope that changes." He noted that previous talks were not productive and emphasized that the US is ready to continue its mediation role. Rubio said they would respect if another party wants to take over this process, but currently, no other actor appears able to take on this role. He also mentioned avoiding endless meetings that yield no results. Rubio expressed that the Ukraine conflict will not end with a military victory, at least not in the traditional sense of a military victory.
