Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha calls on Russia to sit at the negotiating table
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said it is time for Russia to respond to Ukraine's peace proposals, stating, 'The Ankoraj spirit is dead, accept the facts.'
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said it is time for Russia to respond to Ukraine's offer of peace talks. Speaking to the Ukrainian press, Sybiha criticized Moscow over the 'Ankoraj spirit'.
The Russians like to talk about the 'Ankoraj spirit'. Like any spirit, no one really knows what it is. But the Russians believe in it and think everyone else should believe in it too. The truth is, if the 'Ankoraj spirit' ever existed, it is now completely dead.
Sybiha emphasized that Moscow should stop believing in ghosts and respond to Ukraine's serious proposals, sit at the negotiating table and end the war. The minister said that if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not accept reality, the situation will worsen for Russia. 'The longer Putin denies that he will never achieve any of his goals on the battlefield, the worse it will be for Russia,' he said.
