Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces conducted a coordinated drone strike during the night on the Vostochny military training ground located in the occupied Novopetrivka area of Zaporizhzhia region.
The unit’s commander, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, said the attack targeted a location where three separate Russian military units operating towards Huliaipole were concentrated.
According to Brovdi, the strike was aimed at an area where personnel preparing for rotation to the front lines were stationed. Among the targeted units was the Kamchatka 40th Marine Brigade.
Also present at the same training ground were the 1461st Regiment of the 36th Army, composed of soldiers mobilized from Buryatia, and the 1466th Regiment of the 5th Army, made up of recruits from Primorsky Krai.
The commander noted that the attack was not limited to the training camp alone. During the same operation, Russian air defense and command elements in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions were also struck.
Brovdi reported that a Tor-M2 short-range air defense system was destroyed in Vershyna Druha, and a ZU-23 anti-aircraft position along with an active MANPADS team were neutralized in Novopetrivka.
In Novoandriivka, Donetsk region, a Russian drone control point was completely eliminated. These targets were part of the chain of attacks carried out on the same night.
Ukraine’s leadership regards the Unmanned Systems Forces as one of the key technical units in the ongoing conflict.
