Ukraine's Black Sea operations targeting Russia's 'shadow fleet' vessels hit a neutral Turkish merchant ship. A drone struck the Turkish-flagged cargo ship MV Reyhan Sarı while it was sailing near the Russian port of Novorossiysk, killing one crew member and injuring two others.
The ship was carrying coal from Russia's Taman port to Turkey's Trabzon port. After the attack, the injured were taken to hospitals in Samsun by Coast Guard teams.
Despite the damage, MV Reyhan Sarı managed to stay afloat and reached Turkish territorial waters under its own power. Ankara has not yet made an official statement regarding the perpetrator of the attack.
The Kyiv administration announced that it struck a total of 13 vessels that day in operations targeting Russia's 'shadow fleet'. It indicated that the Turkish ship was also hit as part of these operations.
