The Ukrainian General Staff announced that the MARQUISE oil tanker, part of Russia's 'shadow fleet' and sanctioned by Ukraine and other countries, was hit by two kamikaze drones belonging to the Ukrainian navy in the Black Sea. The tanker, operating under the Cameroonian flag, was attacked while waiting to load approximately 210 kilometers off the coast of Tuapse in Russia's Krasnodar Krai region. The tanker's automatic identification system (AIS) signal was off, and it was reported to have a carrying capacity of about 37,000 tons. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, the MARQUISE tanker was used in Russia's illegal oil transportation and was listed on sanction lists by various countries. Meanwhile, drone attacks were carried out by Ukraine on oil facilities in the Russian cities of Perm and Orsk. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a total of 98 Ukrainian drone attacks in the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, Saratov regions, and Russian-occupied Crimea were intercepted by air defense. The attacks and countermeasures indicate that tensions in the region continue.
