Turkish hospitals to get locally made ultrasound machines
Türkiye's Health Ministry is preparing to produce ultrasound machines at a domestic plant with at least 71% local content under a project launched last year through technology transfer.
Türkiye will produce its own ultrasound machines: Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu said a project launched last year through technology transfer has reached an important stage, with the devices to be made at a plant to be built in the country.
According to the minister, every component, from the monitor and probe to software and hardware, will be produced with at least 71% local content. The ministry reviewed AI-supported ultrasound systems and production processes under the partnership on site.
Memişoğlu described the project as part of a "Producing Health" vision aimed at Türkiye developing and manufacturing its own medical technology.
